In seguito all’adozione il 17 aprile scorso da parte della Commissione di un emendamento al Programma di Lavoro 2023-24 di Horizon Europe, anche il Work Programme Missions è stato aggiornato.
L’emendamento include un investimento di 648 milioni di euro nelle Missioni dell’UE che mirano a contribuire alla soluzione di alcune delle sfide che l’Europa deve affrontare, ad esempio rendendo più di 100 città neutrali dal punto di vista climatico.
Le nuove azioni per il 2024 dovrebbero portare al ripristino di almeno 25.000 km di fiumi, a Climate City Contracts con più di 100 città, a 100 living labs e lighthouses che guidano la transizione verso suoli sani, ad autorità locali e regionali meglio preparate ad affrontare i rischi legati al clima, a una migliore diagnosi del cancro e al sostegno ai giovani malati di cancro.
Missione UE: Adattamento ai cambiamenti climatici
La Missione sostiene le regioni, le città e le autorità locali dell’UE nella costruzione della resilienza contro gli impatti dei cambiamenti climatici. Essa mira ad accompagnare entro il 2030 almeno 150 regioni e comunità europee verso la resilienza climatica.
Il 24 aprile 2024 si sono aperti 9 nuovi bandi nell’ambito di questa Missione, con scadenza 18 settembre 2024 e con un budget totale di 123.97 milioni di euro. Nello specifico si tratta di:
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-01: Bringing available and actionable solutions for climate adaptation to the knowledge of the regions and local authorities
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-02: Bringing together the national level with the engaged regional and local levels (multi-level governance)
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-03: Develop and refine outcome indicators to measure progress on climate resilience at national, regional and local levels, including knowledge and feedback developed from the Mission
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-04: Research the complex interplay between the climate and biodiversity crises towards more systemic approaches and solutions
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-05: Improve design for transformative approaches and build local capacity for implementation of available solutions focused on climate adaptation
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-06: Demonstration of approaches to improve bankability of solutions by design, addressing the co-benefits (mitigation and adaptation) to improve revenues streams
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-07: Demonstration of solutions specifically suited to rural areas and small/ medium size population local communities
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-08: Demonstration of approaches by regions and local authorities focused on increasing climate resilience of the most vulnerable social groups (just climate resilience)
HORIZON-MISS-2024-CLIMA-01-09: Systemic and cross-sectoral solutions for climate resilience, tailored to the local needs of regions and local authorities

La Missione è finalizzata a sconfiggere il cancro attraverso una migliore comprensione del cancro, la prevenzione, la diagnostica e la qualità della vita.
Il 18 aprile 2024 sono stati aperti 6 nuovi inviti a presentare proposte nell’ambito di questa Missione, sempre con scadenza 18 settembre 2024 e con un budget di oltre 119 milioni di euro. Nello specifico si tratta di:

Missione UE: Città climaticamente neutre e intelligenti
La Missione mira a realizzare 100 città climaticamente neutre e intelligenti entro il 2030 e a garantire che queste città fungano da sperimentazione per consentire a tutte le città europee di seguirne l’esempio entro il 2050.
Il 16 maggio 2024 si apre il bando Support for national, regional and local authorities – HORIZON-MISS-2024-CIT-02, con un budget di 3 milioni di euro e scadenza 5 settembre 2024.
Si apre invece il 17 settembre prossimo il bando Changing urban spaces and mindsets to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality (HORIZON-MISS-2024-CIT-01), con scadenza prevista per il 16 gennaio 2025 ed un budget complessivo di 98 milioni di Euro per 4 topic:
